A common sight in Provence, the poppy fields!  I always loved this flower growing up...we don't see it much around here but I remember when I was growing up seeing fields and fields of it!

I decided to work on some still lifes for the next few paintings and keep it simple. I do enjoy painting the cloth (or rag) underneath...I don't know why but I love doing folds..

We went canoeing a couple days ago and I took this picture which I loved with the calm water and the reflections in the water.  This week's challenge in DailyPaintworks is a challenge about water so it's also my entry!  Good timing!

 This is another landscape from Belgium.  These fields of yellow flowers are pretty common.  I think it makes for a lovely combination of colors!
