Final Day of Portrait Class and my Monet!

 

 I finished the portrait in class today! I'm very happy with how it turned out and was satisfied with my first portrait class at the Academy. I can't wait until the next one! Below, I took a picture of the drawing with the model although the light is kind of bright but I thought it would be interesting to see the two together.

 I finished the Monet painting for Painting from the Masters. It really looks easier than it is because of all the fog...I actually found it quite hard to paint but certainly learned a lot and that's the point!

Portrait Class - Day Two

 

I went to school today and finished one of my Bargue studies. We also had portrait class this afternoon and I started shading in for the values.  I have one more class to finish this portrait.

I was going to go to school today but ended up staying home with my son who is not feeling 100%. No big deal, I took out some artichokes and a lemon out of the refrigerator and made it a still life!

I finally finished one of my paintings today. This is from the pictures from Belgium, I just love those trees along the winding road and the bright colors!

Portrait Class - Day One

I've been so busy lately...I actually have 2 paintings in progress but nothing done enough to post!  I decided to post what I worked on today at school.  Day one of portrait class.  I'll have 2 more classes and will post my progress.  I was working on just getting the drawing "correct" today and will start shading in next week.

My brother and sister-in-law live in Belgium and these are pictures my sister-in-law took last year. I thought the colors were just beautiful...I must have needed to paint some colors because of all the snow still on the ground here!
